Girls Camp!!!

Wow, I am really behind. Girls Camp was in August (ugh) and the second week before school. Can you say craziness??? But is was worth all the fun. This year Lauren got to come and join the fun. By the fun, I mean lip syncs, secret sisters, devotionals, and making new friends. This year, I got put in a tent with my three best friends, Kaylee, Marissa, and Chancey. Can you say party?? We stayed up really late, talked, and started the official game of girls camp: Phase 10! What a fun game. We will definitely be playing that next year! We also spent a lot of time being lazy in the tent. Chancey stole my camera for a while, and took some really great pics!

My Disorder

It is the Christmas Season! With snow, fun, and most importantly, love!

Recently, I was reading one of the many Christmas books we have stocked in our house. I found one called "Sharing Christmas." It is a collection of many stories from many different people. I just opened to the story that had an interesting title and read this:

"I was fourteen and I wanted to die. Part of the problem was that I was fourteen and female. My brother John, the doctor, says that being fourteen and female is a disorder actually recognized by the American Psychiatric Association, and his professor once spent a whole day talking about it in his Introduction to Psychiatry class. Psychical symptoms of the fourteen-and-female syndrome include slumping in chairs, standing with arms folded across the chest, and wearing the exact same clothes as other disturbed fourteen-year-old girls. Behavioral symptoms include crying, trying on lip gloss, crying, going to the mall, crying, talking to disturbed fourteen-year-old boys on the telephone- and crying. It's a terrible disease, and so far there's no cure."
What a disease. I know I have it. I know a ton of people have it, all of them being fourteen year old girls. I say that we should find a cure, because we are in great need of one.

Late Labor Day

Whew! This was such a long time ago. As with my post Katsup, I am starting at the top of the list and working down. I finally got my San Diego post done, so you can check that out. I know that I am really behind, but school has been rather hectic.

Anyway, back to Labor Day. Labor Day was September something (I don't quite remember the date) and we started it off by going up to Adam's Canyon and seeing the top of the waterfall for the first time.

Now, since we wanted to get to the top of the waterfall in the morning while it was still cool, we had to get up at the crack of dawn. Now maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but it was still early, for me at least.

We headed out, ready to make the best of the day. Here are some cute pictures of our hike together!

So... Craziness?

Is that a good enough excuse for not keeping up on my blogging? Cut me some slack. I have been working really hard because it was the end of the term, and the hard work paid off! I got a 4.0!!! YAY! You may argue that the end of the term was two weeks ago, but in my book, I am still recovering. There was also Halloween (another post on that later), Disneyland trip (again, later), and most of my blogging time has gone into my Honors English Blog, and if you want to read that, be my guest. It is just a lot of ramblings about what is going on in my head. Very boring, but like I said, it's free to read! I promise I will back to blogging on a regular basis! Just let me settle down for a minute!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAIDEN

So here's the deal. My cute little brother Braiden is turned 9 on Sept. 29th. That's crazy. I can remember when he was born, and it doesn't feel like 9 years ago. Maybe the birth certificate is lying. Hmmm. I'll have to check into that...

Anyway, here is a picture of Braiden last year (why last year, you ask? That was the last time we got his professional picture done). Ahhhh. Here's so cute!

Anyway, here's how the festivities went down. We decorated Braiden's "birthday table." It looked great, and Lauren even blew up about a hundred balloons just to celebrate! Then Braiden got to open up one of his prized presents.

Yes indeed. He got a blue-ray Star Wars DVD. Lucky. The kid has loved that thing, watching it every possible minute. You really hit the ball on this one mom! Good job.

After that, Braiden gave donuts to his school class (always a big hit) and then we headed to the spaghetti factory to celebrate. Grandma Janis, Grandpa Dennis, Denise, and Jason were all able to come and join the celebration. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of this amazing event, but let me tell you, Braiden's face was lit up like a firework. He is just so cute!

Braiden got lots of good presents, including a poster from me, Ute pj's from grandma and grandpa, and a Ute's hoodie from mom and dad!

Braiden had a great birthday. It is crazy that he is nine! Soon he will be in double digits! Happy Birthday Braiden!!!

San Diego!!!!

Sorry this post is really late!!!

This summer, our family took an amazing trip to San Diego for my dad's work! We all had a great time and it was fun to spend time with family and friends!!!

We started driving up on the 4th of July. First we went to Grandma Roberta's to celebrate (as always! I love this family tradition!!!!) There we saw the parade, had a great lunch, and even saw the rodeo!!!! YEHAW! Here are some cute pics:

Cute Quote:
Ethan: Katie!! Take a picture of me being peacey!!

Monday afternoon, we headed up to St. George to stay for the night with Grandma and Grandpa. Tuesday morning, we headed up to San Diego, and got caught in all the "Day After Gambling All My Money Away While In Las Vegas For the 4th of July Weekend and Now I'm Going Back To Cali" traffic, so we got into San Diego a lot later than planned. We were going to head to the Shallow Pools, but they were closed, so we headed up to Old Town instead. There we enjoyed a family night where we went to the Mormon Battalion Museum and dinner. It was such a fun night and it was a really good way to start our vacation.

Dad, our battalion solider

The boys got to choose a balloon animal they wanted at dinner, and they chose swords. Watch out dad!! Just give them five bucks and they will not harm you!!

Ethan's face is priceless!!

The next day we headed over to Sea World. We had a really good time going on rides, seeing the shows, and just exploring. It was a really fun experience.

Cute Quote:
Ethan (while admiring the whales): Those things look like hot dogs!!!!

We then rode some really fun rides, saw the dolphin and seal show, and saw tons of cool sea creatures, finishing off the day with the elevator thing, an amazing sunset, and Shamu at night, complete with fireworks!!

Cute Quote:
Braiden (about to go down a waterfall on the raft ride) WHY ME?!?!?!?

The next day was beach day. We had a great time swimming and enjoying the ocean!!!

The next day we headed out to Legoland. It wasn't terrible, but Disneyland is a LOT better!

At the end of the day, we made cars out of legos and raced them as a family. I don't really remember who won. Probably one of the boys.

Our final stop for the trip was the Midway. This is carrier full of planes and history. It was really cool to see!

Ethan has decided to take after Uncle John and become a dentist! He will probably need some tips!

So as you can see, we had a really great trip, and even though this post is really late, and long, I hope you have enjoyed it!
