Birthday Bash

So I missed quite a couple birthdays on my busy break from blogging (try saying that 5 times fast). I want to go over a quick recap of the great birthdays we have celebrated this year!

Lauren's was first on January 15th. She turned 13 years old and is now officially a teenager! Someone please help my mother! For her birthday, she got a package of 16 inch Twizzlers! They were insane, but she loved them! My mom also made a cool flower cake to celebrate. It was quite the occasion to celebrate another teen entering our house!

Ethan's birthday was next. He turned seven on the 15th of February and to celebrate he had a lego party with his friends. It was a lot of fun for him and the boys to build and build!

My dad and I celebrated our birthday in April. We went to Robintinos and had a great time with family! My dad went over the hill this year and so we had to tease him about that.

For my mom's birthday, we celebrated at the Spaghetti Factory (as usual) and had a good time. I got a picture of her and my baby, who was born the day before!

We have done a lot of celebrating since the year has started, and I am excited to keep on celebrating! It has been a lot of fun and I can't wait until the next birthday that comes around!

Christmas in July!

Yes, I do know my months. I know that is hard to believe, but its true. I just need to get caught up on my blogging now!

We had a gingerbread decorating party. This is a great (and yummy) tradition that allows us to be very creative! I love it so much! Even with all the candy we eat, we still manage to put some onto our houses!

Twinners!

Grandpa decorating

Then we had to decorate the tree and get it all ready for the big night!!

We went to Festival of Trees and there was a Tangled tree there! I almost died.

The cool set that my mom and grandma made for the Festival. Great job!

And of course, Christmas just wouldn't be complete without the Oakley Christmas party!

Cousins!

We took our annual trip to Temple Square. All the lights are so pretty and I love looking at them!

Christmas morning

As to why Lauren has a bow on her head...I honestly have no response to that!

It was a really great Christmas season!!!!! Finally I am done with 2011 blog posts and can hopefully catch up!

Anniversary

Today is the two year anniversary of my favorite band, One Direction!!! They are My Newest Obsession and I am so proud to be a Directioner!!! I am so proud of my boys and how far they have come!!

Two years ago, 5 boys were told they were not good enough to continue on the British X-factor. It was a hard time and lots of tears fell. Then they were called back onto the stage, and told they were no longer solo artists, and they formed a band called One Direction. This happened on July 23, 2012. They started out as 5 strangers with a dream, but now they are 5 brothers who inspire dreams.

To celebrate this glorious occasion, I decided to make a cake. I planned to make it very good and magnificent, and probably the best cake in the whole history of the world. Well... it turned out a little differently.

There you go. It is a very simple cake, but sometimes the simplest things in life are the sweetest, and boy does this cake taste sweet! I am so grateful for my mother and sister who helped me pull of the feat! I don't think that it would look this good if it wasn't for them!
