Summer Wrap Up Next!

We have had a great and crazy summer here at my house! August has been a blast, having Girls Camp and the 4th Year Hike, and the hanging with friends and going school shopping! Tomorrow we leave for Glacier, so I will catch up on everything that has been going on after we get back, I promise!

I have been catching up in technology lately. I recently got a Pinterest account and I love it! There are lots of fun things on Pinterest! I have created several meals and tried out lots of hairdos that I found. There are also a lot of good fitness tips that I read and other goodies. All in all, I am glad that I got a Pinterest! Maybe some of my business comes from being on Pinterest...

Anyways, I have had a lot of fun this summer and I am sad to see it come to end. Maybe because I am partly terrified of high school and what it will bring. Well wish me luck! For now I will just enjoy my last week before the last breath of summer slips away...

Anniversary

Today is the two year anniversary of my favorite band, One Direction!!! They are My Newest Obsession and I am so proud to be a Directioner!!! I am so proud of my boys and how far they have come!!

Two years ago, 5 boys were told they were not good enough to continue on the British X-factor. It was a hard time and lots of tears fell. Then they were called back onto the stage, and told they were no longer solo artists, and they formed a band called One Direction. This happened on July 23, 2012. They started out as 5 strangers with a dream, but now they are 5 brothers who inspire dreams.

To celebrate this glorious occasion, I decided to make a cake. I planned to make it very good and magnificent, and probably the best cake in the whole history of the world. Well... it turned out a little differently.

There you go. It is a very simple cake, but sometimes the simplest things in life are the sweetest, and boy does this cake taste sweet! I am so grateful for my mother and sister who helped me pull of the feat! I don't think that it would look this good if it wasn't for them!

Goodbye June

I have been slacking lately in my blogging. Life has been so crazy in the summer! First we had Disneyland, then I had EFY, and then we partied with the Gittens until the left. Then there is also the fact that I am lazy and my computer won't let me put any pictures on. So hopefully I will post more soon.

At the moment, I am just awed in the fact that June is already gone and I am one month closer to being a high schooler!!!! Oh it's insane. So I will just do a little recap on what I haven't posted about and what has gone on in my life for the past little while.

  • I won Language Arts Student of the Year. That means that out of all of the 9th grade students at my school, I was the best at Language Arts. I am so happy and still so overwhelmed!
  • We had a great time with our cousins and family when they came out from Georgia! They were here for almost a month and we had so much fun! I miss you guys!!!
  • I have loved keeping up with all of my school friends! These friendships really do last and I am so grateful for all of my friends! You guys are the bomb!
  • Going to Lagoon has been a blast! We have been a couple of times this summer and it is very fun!
  • EFY was such a great experience! I have loved every single minute of it and I can't wait to go again!
  • I am very excited for our anual Fourth of July bash up in Oakley. That is a tradition that will hopefully last forever! It is fun to see the family and celebrate our country.
So that's a little bit of what is going on in my life right now! I will post more soon!

My Favorite Quote

With summer ending and school starting, life has been kind of hectic (did I just say kind of??? I mean INSANELY HECTIC!!!) but it has been fun. I've been thinking a lot about this quote I found a while ago that I absolutely LOVE!!!! It goes like this:

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain!"

That is a really great quote!! I just wanted to share that with you!!

Crazy Summer

With my New York posts wrapped up, I still have to finish the rest of the summer. But when? Last week was Girls Camp and this week I am going to Grandma's! So I just wanted to get a few things down today before I wrap up summer.

So this post will be kind of crazy! I am going to post pictures of the fun things we've done over the summer. I'm not going to write a lot about them. Maybe a sentence or two. This will just be kind of an overview post.

One of the first things I did this summer was Showstoppers! It was super fun to be in that play and we had worked so hard so it was really cool to have it all come together. I had a specialty solo (aka I got to sing my own song!!!!) so I had practiced really hard and tried my best. Here are some pictures on stage and off.

We also spent a lot of time with the Gittins clan, since they are so cool! Here are some cute pics!

To celebrate Grandpa's birthday, we went to a Bee's game! They lost, and it started down pouring, but it was fun to be with family to celebrate Grandpa's special day!

We had our final piano recital! I played Pirates of the Caribbean and Christiphori's Dream, and I got to end the recital! It was really fun. Thanks Alica for teaching us!

We went to the Dino Park to participate in digging, seeing animals, and having a great time!!

We also headed down to Oakley for the rodeo. It was full of fun, competition, and great fireworks!

Well, that was a bit of my summer wrap up, but now I'm off to Grandma's. TTFN Ta-ta for now!!

NEW YORK Day 3

After a long, but awesome night, we were ready to start a new day. This would be our last full day in New York, and we really wanted to make it count!!

Our first stop was the Empire State Building. It was really cool and had amazing views!! It was really cool to have a birds eye view!!

If you look closely, you can see trees on top of the buildings! I just thought that was funny!!

This was a cool Lego Empire State Building! It was complete with colors, cars in the street below, and even King Kong!!

After that, we headed over to do some shopping at the world's largest store!!! MACY'S!!! It was fun shopping in New York!!

Riding the subway! We sat at the subway forever because we didn't realize less trains ran on the weekends, and our train didn't even run at all!! After half an hour at the station, we boarded another train and continued with our adventure.

Central Park was our next stop! It was HUGE!! We barely saw any of it, but we still saw lots of stuff!!

Eatin' the ice cream!! Man, that was good!

After Central Park, we walked down 5th Avenue. We went in lots of shops, saw lots of cool things, and got lots of feet sores!! We headed back to the hotel to get ready for the play we were seeing that night.

We got all dolled up and headed for Times Square. Here we headed to Juniors, a great place for food and known for their cheesecake... it's a mystery why I chose this place to eat!!

Then we headed over to the theater to see.. Phantom of the Opera!!!! I was so excited! This was the play I chose and could not wait to enjoy!

It was shown and the Majestic theater.

This was the beginning set. Sadly, it was the only one I could get a picture of, but trust me, the costumes, the sets, the actors and actresses, and the play, were AMAZING!!! I am so glad I got to see a musical! Thanks Mom and Dad!

I had a great time in New York! This was the best birthday present anyone could have asked for! I am so glad that I got to share it with some family too!!! Love you all.
